About This Chapter
The next morning, Shmoop tells the gang that he's coming back to the States with them. He tells them that they can't live together because there's not enough space in America, and that's why he came to Japan in the first place. He says that he came because he wanted to go back to America, not because his dad has anything to do with his decision to come to Japan. He also says that his uncle has been pestering him about it for years, and Shmoo says that Shmoo doesn't have a clue how hard it can be to resist. Shmoo admits that he finally convinced Shue's dad to let Shmoo come to America. They try to avoid being seen together, but Shmoo insists that he is coming back with Shmoo to evaluate Shmoo's character. He notes that Shue is a good boy, but he'd been ignoring the light the last time he was with him, so Shmoo is going to follow the rules of his school now, so that he won't be a troublemaker in school
