"Where lips go, you look good" is the title of this chapter's opening soliloquy. It's a bit of a mouthful, but it's the gist of what we're about to hear. The narrator is a freelance photographer, and he's got a hunch that Shusei is in love with a girl named Soju Kugayama. He asks the narrator to tell him what's going on between the two of them, and the narrator doesn't want to spoil the secret, so he tells the story of how Shusei used to hang out with Soju when they were little, and how he used to get jealous when he'd have to take his picture taken. Now, he says, Shusei hates taking his picture, because it makes him feel like a big brother. So the narrator tells the girl that he wishes she could have a kiss with Shusei, but the girl says she can't, because she's too fat to kiss, and Shusei wouldn't be able to get a kiss from her. He tells her to "smile" and "look" at each other, which will make it easier for her to kiss Shusei. He also tells her how to squeeze her arms, which he says will make the kiss easier. He says he wishes the girl good luck, and that he hopes she'll have a good kiss.
