In this chapter, Shmoo introduces us to his "big brother" . Shmoo is the captain of the school's soccer team, which means that he's pretty much Shmoo's step-brother. He and Shmoo have been friends since they were in middle school, but Shmoo doesn't realize that they're actually brothers until Shmoo asks him to go fishing with him one day. He tells Shmoo that Shmoo has been asking him to come along with him all the time, which Shmoo thinks is a good thing because Shmoo acts like a real brother to Shmoo when Shmoo was a kid. When Shmoo gets home from the fishing trip, he realizes that everyone in the school is "self-centered" and out to do their own thing. He asks Shmoo to stop treating him like a "stick in the mud" , and to "be naked together !" Shmoo says that he is happy to have Shmoo as a little brother, but he also reminds Shmoo about the fact that his old man has remarried and that his new mom has also come with her new kid.
