About This Chapter
It's been a while since Hirokazu has seen him, but now that he's back in Japan, he asks if he can join him on patrol. He's not sure why, but he wants to make fun of a game called Street Police, which is about a love interest between a man and a woman. He wants to be a part of the fun, so he tells him he'll be ready to go right away. He also tells him that he smells something "magnifique" , which means "Japanese meat and potatoes" . He tells us that the guy is a friend of his who teaches at a Japanese language school in France. The guy is also a student of his, and they're both in love with the game Street Police . They're going to have a big screen adaptation of the game this summer, so they'll have to update their outfits for it. He says he won't give up on the game until the very end, until "perfection" has been achieved. He compares his appearance to a baton, and he says that he doesn't have enough sparkle in his eyes to let anyone steal his heart away from him. He thinks he should have dressed up in his old gang jacket. He wonders if he should've been more like the guy in the street police uniform. He swears that he wasn't trying to cheat or take his eyes off of the road.
