About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's invited the prince to stay with him at his school because he likes him so much. He tells the prince that he came to the school's annual cultural festival when he was in his third year of high school. He says that the school is a "fun place" and that he was worried about his tests, but the prince "lifted my spirits" . The narrator says that he likes that about the prince too, and that if he had called him, he would have helped him out. He also says that Shusei sent him away, saying that there was nothing to discuss. Shusei's older brother, Shusei, used to hang out with a girl named Satsuki-san, but they've since fallen out of favor. The two of them used to go to basket ball together, but Shusei has stopped hanging out with the girl. He still thinks about her, though, and he still thinks of her as a friend. He's not a man, the narrator says, and would never want to be caught having sex with her. He asks the prince if he is worried about the girl, and the prince replies that he is, but he doesn't care anymore. He thanks the prince for what he has done for him, and says he'll have to live with him again.
