This is a locked chapterChapter 64 If I am going in search of a great perhaps.
About This Chapter
In this chapter, Harker explains that he is not allowed to leave behind the things he has created. He wants to make them his own. Harker says that he has been shot in the arm and falls into the ocean floor. He realizes that he cannot meet his heart like this. He asks if this is someone else's power. He says that they are going to pull the heart out of Harker's body and use it as a vessel to seal off the heart from the rest of the body. He also says that the ghost will not find Harker if he had stayed in the body of the dead man. The ghost is a part of the "flow of evolution" that Harker and the others have been working on. They have all signed a mission to awaken the spirit and bind the heart to the spirit, but the spirit hasn't yet been awakened. The poet's mission was to bind and awaken the ghost on his own, but Harker has not yet done so. The sound of the pulse beating from the ocean is heard, and Harker hears the voice of his former friends. The voice longs for its former friends, but he doesn't know if they are still alive.
