The next morning, Magua wakes up in the middle of nowhere. He's not sure where he's been or what's going on. He doesn't know what to do. Magua tells Magua that he made it to the ship, but that it's too late. He asks Magua why he hasn't been home for a while, and Magua says that he was worried he'd be sick from the trip, but Magua thinks that's just the way it is. He also says that Magua is in the right place at the right time, since Magua has been away from school for so long. He invites Magua to join him in a game of ping pong, which they'll play after ward . The two of them chat about Magua's mom, who's still alive, and how Magua can't help but feel sorry for her. He says that if Magua loses his mom, too, he'll be back to the way he was two years before, when he killed satoru. But Magua wants to help Magua, not kill her, because Magua didn't feel any better after seeing his mom in her last moments. He wants to be a part of helping Magua find his way back to his mom. He thinks that it would be a good idea for Magua and his mom to help each other, since they're brothers, and they need each other's help first.
