He feels that he has not been able to help her in any way, and that he wishes he could be with her now. He asks hongyo to give him a leaf, which reminds him of the lettuce that Milady used to eat. He does not get the impression that he feels any weight on his chest, and he does not feel afraid of spilling the contents of the leaf on the floor. He thinks that this is the last time he will be alone with Milady. He decides that he will clean the house after they eat and then play cards. He wonders if Milady will be able to eat at home. He says that he would eat if he were making dinner. Milady says that she did the cooking, kneading, and even shopping. She says that the kimchi brine in the hot pot does a good job of making the meat taste good. She asks him if it is him or the four that has the first meal together. He replies that it feels like they do live together, and Milady wonders if he used to bring the convenience stores and the restaurants that he did on this life to his new life.
