He originally planned to catch some scraps of the demon's body, but he doesn't think he's going to be able to catch a big fish. He tells her to act fast if she wants to save the little hair-eating demon. She tells him to chop down the tree and burn it to ashes. He's so angry at her that he threatens to kill her.
