About This Chapter
The Governess tells Lockwood that she's not happy with the way Lockwood has treated her. Lockwood admits that he's been honest with her all along, but now that they've been apart for a month, he feels guilty about it. Lockwood says that he and Lockwood used to borrow money and visit family after school, but Lockwood couldn't get over the fact that Lockwood was lying to him. Lockwood confesses that he was crying in the hospital when they ran into each other, but that he didn't want to hurt Lockwood's feelings. Lockwood wonders why Lockwood would go out on a date with another woman when he always goes out on his own. Lockwood asks if the Governess can come visit him anytime, and she says yes. Lockwood then asks if he can go to a large party at his parents' inn. He's worried that he won't be able to fit all of the food in his car, so he asks Lockwood to use the truck to get there. Lockwood tells him that he can't, because Lockwood is busy with the party, and Lockwood is worried that Lockwood is already leaving. He asks if Lockwood can use the room, because the party has brought two people with them. Lockwood thinks that's a good idea, since they're both guests, but he asks if they can still eat dinner together.
