The next morning, Huck finds himself in the middle of a conversation with another man. The other man is trying to get Huck to tell him something, but Huck doesn't want to hear it. He's worried that the other man will be jealous of Huck's attentions, and he's also worried that Huck might be trying to cheat on him. Huck tells the man that he can't trust him, and that he'll never be able to trust anyone again. The man says that Huck is leaving soon for a course in patissier training in France, and Huck wonders if he has time to be with someone like Huck. Huck suggests that he and another man go out to get some food.
