In this chapter, Caius learns that his soul has been uploaded into the spirit world. This means that Caius can visit with his family for seven days after Caius's death. Caius is overcome with grief at the thought of losing his loved one. He tries to shoot at the intruder, but he is unable to do so. The intruder tries to steal his gun, but Caius will not let him. He calls for the ambulance, but the intruder does not stop. He moves as if he knows where he is going to shoot, and Caius realizes that he is still bleeding. He asks the intruder if he has the ability to read his mind, and the intruder replies that he does. He then asks Caius if he still misses his ex-wife, and he guesses that she is still alive.
