Back at the theater, the evildoer tries to convince the audience that he's just trying to be friends with the master. He's not repenting, he just wants to be with his master. The good news is that the bad news isn't as bad as he thinks it is. The bad news, he says, is that he lost to the good guy, and now he wants to kill the bad guy too. He begs the audience to give him back the amethyst bowl, which is the most important item in the play. He also wants to know why no one is talking to him, and why he hasn't been able to scare the audience with the spittoons and glasses. He wonders if they're using the wrong object, and wonders why they haven't talked to each other. He even wonders if the director has been forced to make a fight to bring back fa hai. He sneaks in to the dressing room to change the props before the play starts, and then he puts the amethyst on top of the head of the protagonist. He wants to use the latest model of the terracotta warrior, model 2000, to kill him. He doesn't care if the script says it, because he'll be there to save him. They've reached 100 chapters, and they've only got one more chapter to go.
