The chapter opens with a conversation between Iwabuchi and Satsuma about the results of the April sales performance rankings. The two men discuss their mutual dislike for each other and the fact that they do not share the same passion for sales. They are so far apart that they cannot even agree on what to do with each other. They decide to go for a walk together, and the conversation is interrupted by the arrival of a visitor.
