About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a conversation between the Governess and the Prince. The Governess tells the Prince that she is worried about him. The Prince tells her that the people of his state have made a mistake and that he will not be able to make any money from the auction house. She asks him not to take it personally, and he replies that the Prince is the hero of the state and will not harvest anything from it. She tells him that he is welcome in the state, but that she will not show any respect for him or his state. He asks her to buy him a drink, and she tells him to wait for her. He says that he has come to buy her a drink to save her from the banquet that is to be held at the Celestial Palace that evening. He tells her not to go, but to think about it. The Wine is his reward for saving her life, he says, and if she does not go, he will have nothing to do with it. He adds that the wine is rumored to be a playboy's gift, but he does not believe that it is an item. He warns the Prince not to enter the palace, as there is a big event to come.
