About This Chapter
At the court of the Daxi kingdom, Fangzheng tells the king that something bad has happened to Prince Qi when he was on a visit to the neighboring state of Yunnan. Fangzheng is his best friend, and he hopes that Fangzheng can help him find out what is going on. He tells him that they are here to kill him, and that he looks pretty thin. He says that when he carries someone on his back, it is not a good idea to tell him that he is getting tired, only because it means that he has gotten tired. He asks the doctor to open an zheng, but the doctor refuses, saying that he will not treat the patient if he is not treated now. The doctor tells Fangzheng that there are three circumstances in which the master of the zheng cannot treat a patient: he drinks wine, he drinks during the night, and the patient has no money. Everyone in the neighborhood knows that the master refuses to treat any patient under these circumstances. He also tells the doctor that the patient's spleen and liver have been damaged, and anyone who drinks the poisonous herbs will die. He adds that if he dies, it will not have any effect on the doctor's ability to save the patient. The king of daxi says that respecting evil people in itself is evil. He explains that the kingdom established a powerful department of justice to uphold the law. The leader of the department was Fangzheng, who offended many important people in order to protect the laws of the kingdom. In the end, he was killed on Cangman mountain
