In this brief scene, the "hell messenger" explains that he wants the emperor to believe in him and reward him. He wants to send him into reincarnation so that he can kill the woman and send him back to the underworld. He tells the "white face" that he's healing the "fox demon" who wants to kill him. The "hell" messenger says that he doesn't want to risk his life for the "yin credit" . He just wants to solve the problem and get the reward. He says that the hell messenger is anxious about the " yin credit" as well. He reminds the white face that he wanted to take the "soul on a whim" , and that there's nothing wrong with that. He's just trying to make sure that everyone gets what they want. The white face is shocked to see that the lanterns are being destroyed with his spell. He wonders if someone is trying to harm him, but he can't figure out who it is. He also wonders if the "human skin" on the lantern is made of, well, human skin.
