In this brief scene, the bawd tells Oiran that the sound of her violin has changed. She hears a rustle of something, and Oiran tries to ignore it. The bawd warns her that she may be injured, and that she should apply the ointment to her wounds immediately. Oiran says that the ointment is very effective and that the next day she will be back. Olan is pleased to see that she has returned her gift of embroidery. He tells her that last time he came to see her, he felt her state of mind was not bright as it is now, but after he heard her voice he felt that she was trying to reach out for something. He says that he hopes that he can help her solve the problem.
