In this chapter, we learn that the undead are living in the mountains, and that the only way to get to them is by walking through the forest. We learn that there are only two kinds of people in the forest: the undead and the non-zombies. The first group is the undead, and the second group is made up of people who have escaped from the city. The undead are the ones who have survived the first round of fighting, and they're the ones that have been left behind. They're called "base six" because they've been declared official members of the government by the police commander. The police commander tells the group that they can go through the security check first, but that they'll need to park in the designated area. He also tells them that the chief of the base has agreed to send them to a place called "Beauty Queen" , where there are "pretty girls" among the undead. The group is told that Beauty Queen's house is full of new survivors who have arrived in the last few days. They don't want to kick them out, but the chief doesn't have any special arrangements for them, so they have to live in the same house as the other survivors. The chief says that he's sorry that the group is in such a shabby place, but he promises to find them a nice house by the end of the day.
