Back at the police station, the captain tells the officers that the village was safe when they left, but when they arrived, the village had been attacked by the undead. The captain blames himself for the attack, saying that he was too lenient with the bandits who robbed the village. Instead of repenting, the bandits set up a trap at the entrance to the village, and the zombies entered. They knocked out the captain, but they deserve even worse punishment than that, he says. He says that they're going to be recognized as war heroes by the zombies, and that they can't lower their guard now that they haven't arrived at the base
