This chapter opens with the sound of a lever. It's the control lever of the Bewitcher's machine, and it's telling the soldiers to kill the zombies. The bewitcher is dead, and the zombies are getting smarter and smarter. They're going to have to fight them off. The captain tells the soldiers that he's still alive, and they're all happy. They all agree that the last time the zombies attacked the base, tianlei killed the witch who was controlling the zombies, and everyone was killed. They also agree that if he hadn't, the whole base would have been overrun by the undead. They tell the captain to write a note to his family and friends telling them how awesome he was, and to put it on his chest so everyone will know that he was a hero. They agree to meet tomorrow for a report.
