The chapter opens with a description of the carnivorous plant, which releases a scent that attracts its preys. Once its spikes injure people, the seeds of the plant are full of the substance, and the seeds are infected with it. The host will seek after the opposite sex to keep this not working. The seeds become one if the host removes them by force. There is an antidote, though, and it is you, the host, who is the source of the poison. He says that he needs to kill you, but that he will do so if you ask him to do so.
