In this chapter, we learn that the boss of the construction site has just killed a "zombie" with an axe. The boss tells his employees to keep their voices down and not to attract the undead. He then tells them not to have any grudges against the woman because she worked for him all her life. He says that she should take more responsibility for her actions and not be a leader. He adds that once a teacher said that the difference between heroes and leaders was the standing point. The two women agree that they will stay together. They are wondering where their food went, and it turns out that they stole it. They apologize to the boss and promise to return the food once they get out of the building. They also promise to repay the boss for the food if they can get out. They say that they are hungry all the time, so they have been using the electric pot and the food in the storage room to eat. They promise to follow the boss's lead and do what he says.
