He explains that the day he ran away with her, it must have been wrong from that point on. He feels that he should have died with his family, but that he had more time to consider the matter. He promises to take care of her to the end, and she says that her vacation is over and she has to retire. He thanks her for her kindness and says that it is good timing for him to meet her.
