About This Chapter
Ten years have passed since the events of the previous chapter. A transfer student named sakata has arrived at Yonsei University. He is from China, and he does not speak much of the country's culture. He tries to get along with the other students, who are from other parts of the world. He asks one of them to whisper that he is not a nobleman, or that he belongs to a distinguished family of scholars. The other students whisper that the chairman of the board will visit this afternoon, and the transfer student scribbles that he has been studying law too much. The transfer student says that he knows the chairman will visit, but he is too busy studying law to worry about his real name. He says that the number of Koreans in the country is increasing, and that the word josenjing means "dirty bastards" in the language of the peninsula. The student says he is the class captain and that his background is beyond what he can imagine. He tells the students that if they kill him and his classmates, the police may assume that they committed suicide. He wants to make friends, he says, so he wants to speak in Japanese. The students say that they have male hormones, so it is time for him to look good. He wonders if he was injured in the scuffle, and says he has something for the master to do. The master says he will get the task done within the day.
