About This Chapter
The doctor tells the minister that his son is bleeding so badly that he needs to be taken to the hospital immediately. The minister tells the doctor that he cannot trust anyone to care for his son now. The doctor says that he has a family doctor who will take care of the son. He says that the minister's son could have gotten stabbed in the wrong part of the body or in the deeper part. The Minister says that if the wound had gotten deeper, the soldier's death would have become useless. He asks the doctor if he gave him painkillers, and the doctor says he did, but that the painkillers do not work. He wonders if the soldier did it because he has always been someone who stops at nothing in order to obtain what he wants, and if that is true, the minister will not let the soldier off the hook this time. The Doctor says that it is possible that the soldier would not have done such a thing if he knew that the Minister was going to save him. He tells the Minister that the fire will soon turn off, so he goes to get some firewood. When the minister asks him if he knows that the young master of the main house has been stabbed, the Minister says he does not. The young master tells the Doctor that he went to a party and got stabbed. He goes on to say that they agreed to kill the soldier, but the minister says that this is not the case.
