In this chapter, we learn that the captain of the lost ship has been killed and the entire crew has been disbanded. The captain's son has fallen into the hands of some hoodlums, and the father is worried that he will drag the ship into the labyrinth. He offers to take the son in exchange for his son's hand in business, but the father refuses, saying that he is free to go anywhere he wants now. The father tells the gang that they can use the meat from the dragon to make sausage. The meat tastes great, he says, and he even has a recipe for how to make it.
