Back on board the ship, Paulina and the rest of the crew talk about how awesome it is to be back in the big city after such a long journey. They're all eager to get to know each other, and Paulina tells her that she'll be glad to meet her in the street. She's not sure what to think of him, but she's sure that he won't be able to resist her charms. She tells him that he's the only one in town who knows how to dice, and that he taught her how to do it. Paulina is floored, and says that she was floored to hear him join a crew of drakers. She says that the town is a melting pot of cultures and that there are many dragon boats passing through. She wants to know if they're the only ones in town, and he says that they are. He tells her to wait for them at the pub, where they'll sell her some meat and some buns. He says that he still has pork and mutton on the boat, but that he doesn't like to eat them after a hunt because it's too fattening. He asks the captain if he can stop using him as his personal pilot, and the captain says that's fine, but he'd rather have him as a personal pilot. He also says that if he were Paulina, he wouldn't waste his time trying to keep a quarry intact.
