In this chapter, we learn that the crew is planning to use a device called a wireless sniper to attach a sedative to a dragon. The transmitter is a prototype of a gun that can be used to shoot down live dragons, but it's not yet ready for long range use. The only person who has successfully mounted a live dragon is Ursula, who says she's the only person in the world to have seen the insides of a dragon, and she knows how to use the transmitter. Ursula tells the crew to hurry up and fix the transmitter, because the dragon is still not responding to the sedative. She tells them to go to the aerial station and tell them that the dragon's tail has tore off, and that the cause of its fallings is probably a radio wave.
