In this chapter, the young narrator pays a visit to his father and daughter, who have been living in Australia for three months. He tells them that he's had a lot of food recently, and that they're going to need to make him a bed for the night. He also tells them about a man who just dropped off a dish of dragon meat, but left his name on it. He says that the man is a "man of the sky" . The young narrator then tells his father that he hates him for walking out on him when he first arrived in Australia. He asks his father if he'd like to be a pilot someday, and he says he'll "swing by again sometime," but that he doesn't know how to swim.
