The narrator tells the audience that the results of the blood-dipping method are "unscientific" and that the emperor uses this method to "coagulate" his own blood. The narrator then goes on to say that he has missed this place and that he hopes to meet some old Qinghuai county he has not seen before. He wonders how Mr. Li and Mr. Wang have been doing and wonders if the pony has grown up. He then asks if they are acting like they are waiting for him. They are, he says, "acting like they were saved" . He tells them that they destroyed their homes and that they need money to rebuild them. He says that they are now on the back of the mountain. They look over at the wine-jars and wonder if they could be in there. He asks if she will come looking for them. She does not, he tells her, and he says that she would better she stand there much longer. He is sorry that he is too heavy and asks if he can take the wine jar anymore. He wants to know if it is the coffin of the woman in red. She guards the name. It is a little creepy there.
