About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that Mi-yochu is a violent woman, and that she has a violent husband. We also learn that she is a cool, quiet woman, which makes her attractive to Mi-Yochu. Mi-Yoseung, meanwhile, is in a bad mood. He's worried that his fever is making him crazy, and he's not sure if he'll be able to get back to his family. He tells Mi-yoseung that they're in the wrong place at the wrong time, and they should hurry back to their home. He also tells her that he wants to talk to her about something, but he doesn't know what to say. He says that trouble always comes knocking on his door, so he'd better get going. He explains that years ago, he was leading the mothero army into the border with China, when they were ambushed by an enemy. They fled into a nearby forest, and after discussing it, they agreed to split off. He has been traveling around for years, looking for information, and finally, he couldn't figure out why the king wanted them dead. He didn't want them to starve to death, he says, because the king's incompetence was killing the people. He hopes that someday, he can lead a crusade to avenge the civilians and the dead, without putting them in danger. He asks if the momo soldiers will still serve them, and if they'll still be loyal to him. He sends them an order telling them of the situation on his way back home, and says that they can take an army out alone.
