As long as the kid doesn't tell him who his master is, the demon won't pursue the issue. Otherwise, he'll burn all of the books the kid has stolen. The kid is infuriating. The demon wants to punch the kid, but he can't. He's still angry at the monk, who's obsessed with his territory. He wants to get the kid out of there, but the kid is too scared to do so. He says he's a "powerful fox demon" and that he can prove that the kid's territory is his territory by smelling it. But the kid isn't brave enough to prove his territory, so the demon tells him to get along with the monk. The monk is a punk, and the demon is angry at him for sleeping on the ground and cleaning it up so well. He thinks that the monk is too dignified to handle a punk like himself, so he plans to have the monk commit a taboo and leave. He also wants the kid to wear clothes in the future.
