The next-door Inn is decorated like a "wedding night bedchamber" . The innkeeper tells the young dragon that he paid for the bed and that it's the best room in the Inn. The young dragon says that he didn't realize that he'd be kidnapped by demons on his way to find him. He's not lying, he says. Maybe the demons were too weak to pick up on the three little demons. The truth is that they're looking for the treasure that the dragon is carrying. The dragon says he's going to take it to the mirror lake. He wants to know where the treasure came from and where it is being taken. He doesn't want to be bullied by the dragon. He just wants to understand what's happening. He says he was too impatient to see the dragon again, and now he is caught in the crossfire of the gods and demons. He begs the dragon to stay by his side to protect him. The next morning, the two of them need to get back on the road.
