In the upper realm, there is a hidden book depository. It is not easy to find, however, because you must have "outstanding talent" to find it. The narrator asks what obstacle he has encountered. He tells the story of a family of immortals who practiced the forbidden arts of qi and were executed for it. He thinks it is better to enjoy the ordinary days of life than to cultivate immortality for the sake of a promise. He asks for the name of the fellow immortal, but he is not able to find him. L-lord Xuanying asks if they should go inside, but the narrator tells him that the lord is having a nightmare. He says that he will take care of the problem, and that he is almost at the point where he will no longer have to absorb "resentful spirits" anymore.
