In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, the costume manager, who has just returned from the Hong Kong shoot. He tells the audience that he has lost all of his props and costumes, and that he will return them later. The costume manager tells him that the skin arts clan has not yet given up on their plot to kill him. He says that he hopes that someone will come forward with information that will help them blend in with the rest of the gang.
