Fang zheng is back in the village, and he asks why his face is so pale. He says that he has a cold, and that he used to live in the ancestral house, and there is an old well inside the house that has been sealed off for generations. Fang says that the adults sealed off the old well to prevent children from falling into the well, but now that he is old, he can't recall what happened to the woman child. He wonders why the woman went mad, and wonders if the story is a fake. He decides to head over to the ancestral hall to find out the truth. The village head has agreed to let the villagers clear the mountain roads so that Fang can get back to the house. Fang's complexion isn't looking good, so the village head led the villagers to the village entrance while leaving him at the house to recuperate. He asks why the village hasn't found the missing people yet, and the villagers reply that they haven't yet found them. Fang wants to go into the bath room, but the sound of a drip coming from the well scares him, so he decides to check it out.
