This chapter opens with a curse on the woman carrying a gravestone. The owner of a breeding farm in the village curses the woman because she is carrying a tombstone. He curses her because he has three thousand chickens in his backyard and he cannot lower himself and act like the other villagers. The villagers hear a splash of water and a drip drop, and they are afraid to go out at night. The next day they hear bad news. Two villagers have disappeared the night before.
