The scene opens with the father and son arguing. The father tells his son not to tell the elder jiang of what has happened. He tells the son that he is his subordinate and that he wanted to stab him before . The son tells the father that he almost died because of the father's kindness. He asks the father what he is doing, and the father tells him to drag the two boys over to the other side of the room. He says that the boy is afraid of his classmate, and that this is why he is beating the boy. When the father asks the boy what he should do, the boy tells him that he should touch the boy's girlfriend, and he says he is going to beat the father. He apologizes to the father for his behavior, and says that he forgave the boy because he was so kind to him and his family. He promises to take care of the situation, but says that some things need to be made clear. He warns the father not to go against the boy, but the father says he will do it anyway. He then tells the boy that he has bought him two books, one for him and one for his brother. He gives the brother the books to memorize, and tells the brother that he will check on him once the vacation is over.
