The prince wants to know why Songyi sent a subordinate to the temple, but the headmaster says that it seemed like he didn't want to commit a sin. He also says that after the death of the Buddha and the monk, the temple became an "abandoned temple." The headmaster says he wanted to kill the evil spirit himself, but it wasn't too late. He says that some people from the high class came to take the fish away from the temple and that it looks like the incident has already happened there. He thanks the headmaster for helping them clear their doubts and says that he'll send the headmaster a gift the next day as a "token of my gratitude." The prince asks the headmaster if there's anything he can't tell in front of the headmaster, and the headmaster replies that it is the symbol of "the guiyuan sect" of the cangming. He warns the prince not to investigate too much because more dangerous people are coming for him.
