The gate to the imperial palace is open, and Ming-liang asks his sister-in- law if he thinks his sister is safe and sound. He tells her that he is not as strong as she is, but that he will practice to protect her. He asks her why she doesn't call him her brother-in law, and she says that she hasn't seen him in a few days. She asks him if he is willing to play the role of a husband, and he says that he only does this for the people he likes. He gives her a ring that he has prepared for her, and asks her to put it on his finger. He says that this ring will allow him to see where he is when he is in danger, and that if something happens to him, he will be able to come and rescue him right away. He also asks her not to mess around, and to take care of herself when he's away, and not to put herself in danger
