The next morning, Shu-Li tries to convince her father that her sister is still alive, but he cannot bring himself to admit that she is. He tells her that he has seen her many times, and that she looks exactly like his mother, but that she has refused to join the sect because she does not want to be associated with such a worthless place. She says that even though they owe her, she would rather die then have a lowly brother like him. She tells him that he can never be as good as her, but after seeing her face, he believes she is his daughter. He kneels before his father and says that she will always be his daughter
