In this chapter, we learn that Ming'er has fallen in love with Long's sister, who is now his step-step-mother. Ming explains to his sister that he has fallen for her because she is innocent and cute. He tells her that if he beats her, he'll abandon her. He explains that men are cold-blooded, and that he killed the concubine he loved for profit and then married a woman who looked just like her. Ming says that he will protect his sister for life. He reminds her that ten years ago her father went missing, and Ming has been running the family affairs since then. Now that he's in charge of the family, he will use this opportunity to discipline his brother. Ming reminds his brother that he is the elder and can bully anyone he likes just because he is. He says that if anyone tries to harm him or his family, Ming will kill them all.
