In this chapter, we are introduced to the young protagonist, Yulan, who has come to visit his older brother, Shuang'er, at the university. He is very excited to see his brother, who is studying alchemy, and he wants to know why he is being separated from him. He tells his father that he has been looking for him for three years, and when he finally found him, he sent Yulan and his grandfather to the guangming school to help him, but they did not reply. When he found out that Yulan was studying alone, he did not want to interrupt his brother.
