Amitabha and his fiance, Madame Xiao, are on their way to visit their grandmother. They are interrupted by the arrival of a young woman, whom they call Lady Xiao. She is a kind and compassionate woman, and she promises to do whatever she can to help her granddaughter. She tells the young woman that since she has met her grandmother, she wants her to promise her that she will do anything for her granddaughter, even if it means giving up her life. The young woman begs her grandmother not to give up on her life, but she refuses to listen to her grandmother's advice. She wants to dress up for the trip, and when she realizes that she cannot go by herself, she asks her fiance if he would like some vegetarian food before heading back to his wife's house.
