This chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, where we learn that the marquis had said that he would kick su li out of the mansion if he could find something like the jade pendant, which he had found under the pillow of su li. Su li is now convinced that he is the one who took the jade from the drawer. He kneels before his master and tells him that he has proof that he stole the jade. He also reminds him that if anyone dares to slander him, he will send people to look for the pendant. He then goes on to say that he saw Su li selling her hair and handwriting for a high price recently. He tells his master that if he doesn't believe him, then he can send people out to search for the treasure. The marquis is angry and tells Su li that she has committed a crime by selling his things in the mansion and then lying about it. He locks her in the dungeon and tells his men to add this chapter to their collection.
