About This Chapter
The Ming family arrives at the emperor's palace, and the emperor scolds the Ming for his high regard for roujia. He tells the Ming that he is interested in her, but that his feelings for her are not about what the emperor thinks. The Ming tells the emperor that he has been slapped by a servant, and that he wants to know what happened to his face. He asks the servant if he is afraid of punishment, but the servant replies that the Mings shouldn't kneel before the master, because he is the master's servant. Ming asks the Ming if he got slapped, and he replies that he was slapped. Ming says that he did not want to mention the emperor these days, because the emperor seemed to have been interested in Su li, and invited her to his palace several times, and now rumors are beginning to circulate that the emperor may have feelings for Su li. Ming thinks that Su li is not up to the Ming's standard, but he doesn't care because he thinks the emperor does care about him more or less. Ming wonders if the Ming asked Su li to send him the music box, but she says that it went to the young Ming, who obviously has feelings. Ming admits that he acted rashly, but says that if Su li wants to tell the emperor about his condition, he will do so.
