About This Chapter
The next morning, chunyan finds that the marquis has discovered that he and the servant have plotted to murder the two sisters. He decides to run away from the mansion and hide in a nearby inn for a month. Worried about his sister's safety, he tells her that the injury on her back is not serious and that she should take medicine for a few days. Outside of the room, he sees a man who looks like the servant who killed him the day before. He thinks that the man must have had a grudge against him for the fifty sticks he received the other day and put him on the boat. Unsure of what is going on, he wonders why the man did not kill him. The man's body has been found in a woodshed, and he looks like he has been poisoned. Confused, he asks if the servant's death is connected to s/he's disappearance. He wonders if it's possible that the servant was poisoned, and that the woman was the mastermind. He asks cheng to send people out to find her, but he can't find his jade pendant.
