This chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, in which the audience is introduced to the protagonist, who is now called "ding-dong." He is the protagonist's younger brother, and he has just returned from Hong Kong, where he has been sent to find his sister. He is now a member of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, which is one of the largest stock exchanges in the world. He has been promoted to the rank of general manager, which means that he is responsible for running the stock exchange. He also has the power to change the stock price at any time, which greatly increases the value of the stock. The protagonist is also able to use his holographic scanning skills to find hidden passageways in the stock exchanges. He asks the Stock Exchange's manager if he will help him find a way to get his sister out of Hong Kong. The stock exchange manager agrees to help him, but only if the protagonist kills his brother-in-law.
