In this chapter, we learn that the leader of the undead, the "boss," has been killed by his men. The undead leader, who is also known as "the beast master," has come to the base to find out what has happened. He asks the other undead leaders to help him gain more experience by attacking the weaknesses of the enemy. The beast master tells his men that the city of Chongqing is "far scarier than you imagine" . He also tells them that the base has recently been under attack, and that the enemy is only getting stronger. He instructs the beasts to dig underground passages to store food and to facilitate the evacuation of the base. The beasts also dig passages that extend a long way, and the beast master asks if the underground passages were taken care of three days ago. He tells the beasts that the grain had been hidden, and he asked them to dig the passages. He then asks if they are from the "deermaster alliance" , and they tell him that they have brought a large number of "mutant beasts" with them. They want to see the boss, but he refuses to let them in, saying that his men have killed his partner. The boss tells the undead leader to hand over the killer immediately, and to go after the "zombies." He tells him to stop talking to the zombies, and says that the pangolins have the best evidence of their guilt. He says that he has never seen a group of people act in such a way. He adds that the number of undead coming to the city is "beyond imagination."
